Trunk Networks is a full service solution provider and has been an ISP since its inception in 2008. We provide data centre centric solutions to business throughout the UK. These services range from hosted desktops to VoIP solutions but they are all hosted and therefore require excellent connectivity. We started noticing that more and more of our existing business customers were asking us to provide their home broadband too.
We were always getting complaints from business customers who were working from home, reporting that their home broadband connection from one of the “big four” was so slow that it was unusable especially when trying to access services that were very sensitive to latency (hosted desktops are a good example). Once these home users were moved to our broadband the issues they were experiencing disappeared.
The difference between Trunk Networks and the big four is that we don’t run a congested network and we will never run a congested network. The big four take on too many subscribers on to a platform that they have to contend / shape at peak times. Even Ofcom have now acknowledged that during peak times broadband subscribers wont get the broadband service that they are paying for. Ofcom are asking ISP’s to sign up to this and the only ISP’s that have signed up to this code are the bigger ISP’s. We refuse to sign up to this because we believe that if you are paying for a service that service should be available at the same speed all the time.
Trunk Network’s network has massive capacity with 100Gb across all of our core backbone links. Our commitment to all of our customers is that we will continue to build capacity in our network and that we will continue to deliver low latency, high bandwidth connections.
